The Tenorio Volcano is between the provinces of Guanacaste and Alajuela to the Northwest of the country, between the cantons of Upala, Guatuso, Bagaces, Cañas and Tilaran.
Monteverde, or Green Mountain as it translates to in Spanish, is a popular destination for nature lovers in Costa Rica. The Arenal Volcano National Park is located in the the foot of a mountain of the Cordillera de Tilarán and San Carlos Plains. As its name implies, the more attractive and appealing view of the park is the Arenal Volcano.
Costa Rica is recognized for environmental conservation and its Protected Areas System, being national parks, best-known and most characteristic of the country. By 2013, according to the Management of Wilderness Areas protected, (SINAC, by its acronym in spanish) 807.709 foreigners visited these protected Areas.
The beach town of Tamarindo has grown quickly in response to its popularity with tourists to Costa Rica, and is a far cry from the sleepy fishing village that was once located here. The resort’s proximity to the international airport in Liberia also makes it attractive as a destination.
